Craddick Remains Speaker of Texas House

On the first day of the 80th Texas legislative session, one of the first orders of business was to vote for the Texas Speaker of the House. The decision for House members was between incumbant, Tom Craddick, and challenger, Jim Pitts. Late in the day, Pitts conceded and Craddick won the election 121-27 to serve his third two-year term as Texas Speaker of the House.
