Margin Tax Temporary Credit Date Extended

We have learned from the State Comptroller's office that the notification date for a taxpayer to preserve a temporary credit under the new margin tax will be extended from March 1, 2007 until September 1, 2007.  Notice of the change will be posted in the January 26, 2007 issue of the Texas Register and will be published in the Comptroller's next Tax Policy Newsletter.  The rule granting the extension should be formally adopted by February 1, 2007.
