Ways and Means hears $1 million minimum revenue bills

Monday the House Ways and Means committee heard numerous bills including four of six identical bills all of which make the $1 million total revenue exemption for franchise tax permanent.  Each bill has a $149 million negative fiscal note which would apply to the property tax relief fund.  The bills were left pending.  Chairman Hilderbran (R-Kerrville) noted the fiscal note problem and said he hopes to bring one of the bills back in concert with one or more bills that would provide funding to make the net result revenue neutral.  There was pro and con testimony as reported by The Texas Tribune.
