CPA Rep. Raul Torres (R-Corpus Christi) received the Legislator of the Year award from the Texas Municipal League for his accomplishments during the session.
Torres served his first session in the Texas Legislaure in 2011. The award is given in recognition of his “serving the needs and advocating the interests of Texas cities, large and small.” The press release stated that Torres “played a key role in defending municipalities and local control.”
